Bodalla’s 150th year celebrations in 2010 kicked off with a launch early in April followed by special events every month until the end of the year!

Comerang Farm Preliminary Launch
Comerang Farm - Saturday 10th April 2010 9.30am
Return to the home of Thomas Sutcliffe Mort and wife Theresa Laidley Mort where, from this foundation farm, the prosperous Bodalla Estate began.
With official addresses from Mort descendants, historical reflections, Riversong choir and guided tours of the significant building sites, this is a rare experience provided to the public on privately owned property. Refreshments available.
Official Launch of the Bodalla 150 Year Celebrations
Bodalla Public School - Saturday 10th April 11.00am
Proceed to the Bodalla School Hall to participate in the official ceremony to herald the commencement of the 2010 celebrations with official guests and community members. The historic orginal school bell will be rung along with the raising of the Bodalla flag. Enjoy the tales from the ‘My Bodalla Story’exhibit depicting the colourful stories of modern community members whilst observing a glimpse of Bodalla’s pictorial and significant past.
The official event will also herald the launch of “The Bodalla Estate from 1860 to 1989” written by Helen Townend. The book is intended to honour Thomas Sutcliffe Mort, his descendants, his Bodalla farm workers and all those who continue to farm in the Bodalla area. Traditional morning teas available supported by BPS P&C.
Bodalla Celebration Dinner
Bodalla Bowling Club - Saturday 10th April 6.30pm
All are welcome to join the community in celebrating the launch of our celebrations. An official address will be given by Adam Mort, descendant of Thomas Sutcliffe Mort. Come along and catch up with old and new friends share some tales and herald the start of our celebrations. Tickets are $20 head. Tables can be booked by contacting Liz Wallace on 44735313.
Thanksgiving Service and Harvest Festival
The Historic All Saints Anglican Church - Sunday 11th April 11.00am
All are invited to this ecumenical thanksgiving service in Bodalla’s famous historical church. The All Saints church was built by the Mort family as a dedication to T.S. Mort and his wife Theresa. After the service, all are invited to bring a plate for a shared lunch in the church grounds, so bring a chair and food to share!
